OverviewJeff Graduated from William Penn (Del.) High, where he played only one season of high school football. He then played for Valley Forge Military Academy (Valley Forge, PA) where he was a top JUCO recruit by the Pitt Panthers in 2005. Really hurt himself by running a pedestrian 5.56 and 5.57 at the Combine.
StrengthsA physically imposing player on the rise with great size, and a frame to carry 345 pounds smoothly. Gets out of his stance quickly. Uses hands well. Steers the RDE out away from the play. Will finish run blocks. Looks the part. Solid physique. Has not maxed out his potential. Excels in pass pro. Pretty good feet to be tried first at LOT, and should be one of the top 3-4 LOT candidates for the 2008 draft.
WeaknessesHas a lot to learn. Does not really hand punch, but rather hand fights a bit too much. Gets too tall too quickly and can be beaten by quick spin moves, especially to the inside. Raw technique. Not an elite run blocker. Hasn't played at a consistently high level for very long. Should do even more with the immense talent he possesses. Does not have a great motor. Gets lazy on some plays, especially when the action goes the other way. Needs to finish his run blocks, lock on better, and learn how to bury people. He will also get confused when choosing between two rushers and misses both... All things that pro coaching and experience can correct. Slow in a straight line.
ProjectionCould go as early as the first round based on perceived upside and measurables, but is more of a 3rd round player at this stage.
Late first to early second round. |
