(2005):Emerged as one of the WAC's best running backs last year after starting RB Dwayne Wright went down with a knee injury in the second game of the season ... became just the 12th running back in school history to surpass 1,000 yards on the ground ... combined with Wendell Mathis to form one of the nation's most potent one-two punches in the backfield ... few schools, if any, have the depth the Bulldogs do at running back ... is very good at coming out of the backfield to catch passes ... very durable and reliable ... continues to be the featured back in short yardage and goal line situations ... has scored 25 rushing touchdowns over the last two years. Draft outlook: UDFA. (2004) Become the 12th back in school history to rush for more than 1,000 yards, earning him second-team All-WAC honors ... averaged 5.8 yards per carry, the third-highest total in the WAC ... ranked 32nd in the nation in rushing yards per game ... his best game of the season came against Hawaii, in which he rolled up 220 yards, tied for the fourth-highest single-game total in school history ... led Fresno State to a school record 503 rushing yards against the Warriors in a game in which he had 168 in the first quarter ... was named WAC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Hawaii ... had 94 yards in the bowl victory over 18th-ranked Virginia ... rushed for 127 yards on 26 carries against Portland State for his first career 100-yard game and first of four 100-yard games during the season ... averaged 148.8 rushing yards in the final three games of the year while scoring seven touchdowns. (2003) Participated in 12 games this season, all off the bench ... second on the club with 509 rushing yards on 123 carries ... had six receptions for 91 yards ... led the Bulldogs with 10 touchdowns, all but one coming on the ground ... breakthrough game of the year came in Fresno State's victory over Portland State, when he rushed 12 times for 60 yards and three touchdowns ... was perhaps at his best in the bowl game when he scored two touchdowns, including one on a 44-yard screen pass that he took into the end zone ... rushed for a season-high 79 yards in a win over Louisiana Tech. (2002) Played in 11 games, all as a reserve ... second on the team with 249 yards rushing on 62 attempts ... scored two touchdowns ... best game was against Nevada when he had 60 yards on 12 carries, including a 27-yarder ... his TD runs came against the Wolf Pack and at Rice ... caught five passes out of the backfield, including a long of 13 against the Owls ... made his only two tackles of the season at Boise State when he was still a member of the defense. (2001) Redshirted.

High School: Lettered three years in both basketball and football ... team captain of both teams ... was named all-area in football ... had over 1,000 yards of total offense his senior year ... played point guard for the West High School basketball team.

Personal: Born Dec. 3, 1982 ... parents' names are Debra and Gary Sumlin ... has three brothers, Demetrius, Angus and Gary, and two sisters, Robyn and Cambria ... enjoys sports, spending time with family and video games ... became a Bulldog because his entire life he always wanted to come to Fresno State.
