CDS Profile
Brian burst onto the scene in 2005 with fire as he led the Badgers to a quick start. After the first 4 games, Calhoun had amassed over 620 rushing yards and 9 TDs. Most saw him disect the Michigan front four en route to a major upset in Madison. He shows good field vision and excellent power at the point of attack. He has a good mix of speed and power. A very hungry runner who never gives up on a play and runs with big time intensity. His durability is a concern and he will need to bulk up to be able to take on defenders at the next level. He is not big at all at 5-9 and most likely will not be an every down back. His hands are as good as any backs or receivers, so he will be utilized in the passing game if his team is smart. Carried the ball a ton as a junior and showed he could take the full load. After a dissapointing time at the Combine running in the 4.6s, he looked better on an extremely fast track at Madison's Pro Day. I think he is a 2nd or 3rd rounder, but might not pay dividends at that spot. Still, a touchdown machine who benefits from a great offensive line, and will be a player on the rise come the 2006 NFL Draft.
