CDS Profile

Gagliardi Trophy recipient…as a senior, threw for 4,018 yards and 49 touchdowns…two-time Football Gazette and Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year…threw for over 300 yards in nine games, equaling and NCAA Division III records…consensus All-American as a junior in 2004…male recipient of the Ad Rutschman Small College Athlete of the Year award for the state of Oregon…set Linfield single-game (528), single-season (4,595) and career (8,614) passing yardage records…also set Linfield and NCAA all-divisions single-season touchdown passes record (61)…in all, holds 31 Linfield passing and total offense records…23-1 as Wildcats' starting quarterback…selected to play in the Hula Bowl and Las Vegas Classic senior all-star games…highly touted playmaker with a strong arm and good understanding of the game…unassuming, natural leader who is a team player…transferred to Linfield after two seasons at the University of Utah…started eight straight games at Utah before suffering a season-ending injury…communication major…lettered nine times in football, basketball and tennis at Lake Oswego High School…Oregon Bowl all-star game most valuable player and Gatorade Player of the Year…first team all-state quarterback and third team all-state basketball guard…Three Rivers League offensive player of the year…helped the Lakers reach the state playoffs in both sports.Like Wally Pipp's legendary headache that opened the way for Lou Gehrig, Brett Elliott got hurt prior to the 9th Game of 2003 and watched Alex Smith, his back up, become the first selection in the 2005 Draft.  Wow, how about that for a wake up call!

After tranferring the former Ute QB set Linfield passing records for single season: yardage- 4595,  TDs-61, tied completion % at  66.4 - Pass attempts-437 Completions-290,  and yards-per-game at   353.5.  He also holds records for Total Offense-4663.  I see some Jake Plummeresque qualities, though not quite the athlete or gambler.
