Kyle Orton's heir apparent was Brandon Kirsch. When Orton went down with injury, Kirsch filled in beautifully tossing 7 TDs and completed 61 percent of his passes in just 2 games last year. Kirsch has a good arm, and great mobility to make plays out of the pocket and led the team in rushing in the spring game. A 4 year junior, Kirsch has put his name in to be selected in the 2006 NFL Draft. One of the bigger surprises of early entries, Kirsch ended the season 2nd on the depth chart after losing the job to Curtis Painter. While it hasn't been confirmed why Brandon left school early, it most likely revolves around playing time and the coaching staff. A talented QB with a lot of potential, I think he made a big mistake by leaving school early. He's not very experienced, but does have some tools of an NFL QB. A FA or 7th rounder.
