A transfer from the Air Force, Schlegel has not had any problem with the change in conference. The middle linebacker in this great group at OSU, Schlegel was 3rd on the team with 84 total tackles in 2004 and 2nd in 05 with 82. Schelegel did miss some time in this spring due to some problems with his knee, but played through this year. A 4 year player who we definitely saw some flashes of brilliance from. He has all the tools you look for in a LB including technique and instincts, I think he will be a solid top 150 guy with the ability to move up the boards. He did lead the team in tackles for loss with an impressive 10.5 in 04, and may have the best overall ability at linebacker of any LB at OSU. A very tough overall prospect who will be just as good in the pros when he gets there. Overshawdowed by 2 other great 1st round linebackers at Columbus, Schelegel will be a 2nd day guy and his leadership will get him into the starting lineup one day.
