CDS Profile

Andre is a smallish back who was very effective at the major college level after two seasons of very productive play in the JUCO ranks at two different schools. He absolutely took the conference by storm (and a little by stealth) in 2004, and even though he was a marked man in 2005, he still did very well and nearly carried USF on his back to a Big East Champonship.  He displays decent true tailback moves in the open field and can deliver a pop on contact.  He has one of the best yards-per-carry (5.84) marks of any IA runningback over the past two seasons, and has shown a willingness to block or catch the ball out of the backfield.  He is not a polished blocker though.  Andre is a college workhorse who gets a surprising number of his yards between the tackles for a guy of his limited dimensions.  It remains to be seen whether he can take such pounding at the next level where the hitters are bigger and hit with far greater velocity.  He is not a flashy back who will wow you with his slipperiness, so he is likely to take more of a pounding than a more elusive guy.  He was recently named the 5th best senior RB candidate for the 2006 NFL draft by BLESTO and the 4th best by National.  Somehow Andre always seems to find a way to get the job done even though he has not been blessed with terrific talent around him at USF...look for him to go day two of the 2006 NFL draft.
