A.J. Nicholson is a star weakside linebacker for the Florida State defense. He is very active in all facets of the game and is very well rounded. In the passing game he has a natural feel for receiver routes and has the speed and agility to stay with many pass catching threats. In the run game Nicholson is a little weaker but is still very good. He has good play recognition and fills holes quite well. Excellent wrap up tackler and is a good tackler in the open field. For the next level he could use a bit more weight to his frame but it is not a huge concern. For a comparison kind of think of former FSU linebacker Tommy Polley. Definitely one of the top outside linebackers for the 2006 NFL Draft.
