CDS Profile
We are at a loss to explain Adam's meltdown this past season.  Prior to 2005 Adam was a very productive small-college lineman with a great motor and a football mentality.  He has the type of NFL size that everyone is looking for and has the frame to get a lot bigger.  Those are all of his positive attributes at the moment.  He still has a lot of growing to do as a football player.  His technique is sloppy.  He tends to stay high and lose leverage.  He tends to get winded late in games and must be rotated at the next level.  He is a bit of a DT-DE tweener at present who lacks the speed and agility necessary to ever be more than a space-filler as an NFL DE, and he currently lacks the bulk and strength needed to play DT effectively beyond Div. IAA.  Still, Adam has the "want to" that coaches love, and if he can really hit the weights hard for a couple of years and add 20 pounds of muscle while working on someone's practice squad, he has a chance to develop into a fine NFL defensive tackle.  The problem will be finding a club willing to invest the time necessary.  But, as always, anything can happen.  Solid UDFA gamble who has not been heard from since the end of the 2005 season.
