OK, originally I didn't feel McGurk had NFL potential due to his size, and that will still hurt him, the NFL doesn't have any 205 pound linebackers, heck 205 pounds is even small for a strong safety, which is the position he will be projected to in the NFL. His size, or lack thereof, will probably keep his name from being called in the 2006 NFL Draft, but let me tell you folks, I think NFL teams will be ringing his phone off the hook to sign him as a free agent. Someone with his production just has to be given a chance at the next level. He is a football player extraordinaire. He has started since he was a true freshman and has accumulated some impressive career numbers. Adma was the leader of a defense that ranked 9th in NCAA-II in scoring defense in 2004 allowing only 15.2 points per game. McGurk is fast as lightning coming up in run support and is a very sure tackler, he has a smooth backpedal in pass defense and is decent in that area. His strong suit is blitzing. A little similar to a smaller version of the Cowboy's Roy Williams. Projecting to strong safety, NFL scouts are going to want to see just how good he is in pass coverage. His foot-speed will also play a huge part and he will need to run at least a 4.49 forty as well as gain about 10 pounds of muscle. So he has a lot of work to do, but I like his chances.
