Backed up P.K. Sam last year but has come on strong this year (2004). He was named most outstanding receiver in the spring. Big, strong receiver who can make the catch in traffic. Very athletic and has superior body control. Last year his first season at FSU, he finished third on the team in receiving yards, catching 19 passes for 340 yards with two scores and played in all 13 games. He started four games when the Seminoles opened with a three or four receiver set and led all receivers in the Orange Bowl with 79 yards on four catches against Miami. He recorded a career-high 131 yards on four catches and scored one touchdown at Clemson. He caught at least one pass in nine games and ranked second among FSU receivers with a 17.4 yards per catch average. He was a super star at Hinds Community College in Mississippi in 2000 and 2001; he subsequently transferred to FSU and in 2002 was redshirted along with most of the class. Graduated from Vero Beach High School in 2000 where he scored 64 touchdowns and accounted for more than 4,800 yards of total offense during his prep career. Stovall is a late bloomer but he might be a future NFL star. He emerged as the top reciever on his team in 2004 and ranked #2 in the entire ACC in receiving yards with 771 yards and 6 Tds.
