An extremely accurate QB that fits the typical MAC QB mold. Has had an amazing career at Akron chasing just about every single passing record in the books. His biggest asset is his accuracy having posted well over 60% completion over his past two seasons. Has a great TD to INT ratio at 1.9:1 over his entire collegiate career. That is exactly what NFL teams are looking for with the recent successes of players like Tom Brady who are accurate and don't make mistakes. Frye also isn't just a pocket QB but has shown the ability to get out of the pocket and make things happen having scored 17 TDs on the ground during his career. Questions about Frye include his ability to deal with pressure up the middle and touch. Frye this season was sacked 38 times which was 3rd most in NCAA Division 1-A. He has posted similar stats over his collegiate career and scouts have to be wondering how his body is dealing with all those hits and concerns that he struggles recognizing pressure. Frye is an excellent QB when he is able to set his feet and throw a bullet to his receiver but if he is required to put some touch on the ball or loft it over a player his accuracy diminishes greatly. Charlie had a terrific Senior Bowl performance and was the consensus best QB at that game (which unfortunately did not include Alex Smith or Aaron Rodgers.) With a very weak QB class outside of the top 2 Frye could be the third QB off the board but it will most likely come down to an organization's preference.
