CDS Profile
Jacobs Transferred to Southern Illinois from Auburn last year. Did not play in 2003. Entering his 5th year, Brandon took the Gateway Conference by storm as he became a leader of the defending national champs. He is a huge running back with very good speed for a man his size. Runs a little like Earl Campbell and shows good vision, a burst, and sometimes explodes into tacklers. Has always carried a very gaudy ypc going back to his days as a senior at Assumption High in Louisiana when he rushed for an amazing 3,022 yards and 38 TDs, with an 8.6 ypc. Brandon has bounced around a lot, but successfully earned the respect of his new coaches and the pro scouts with a solid final campaign. He must continue to display a very dedicated work ethic and show that he is indeed coachable if he wants a chance at the next level. Brandon has amazing physical tools, but he absolutely MUST play with better body lean and be the "hitter" more than the "hittee" this year. With a very productive year, Brandon has shown he has the talent to a be a late-first-to-early-second-day pick in the 2005 draft. He is considered by most to be the 2nd-best "big back" this year, behind Louisville's Eric Shelton.
