CDS Profile
This great physical specimen is the prototype for the CB of the future. Browner has declared for the draft after just two years with OSU, and in the opinion of this writer it is a mistake on his part. It is not that he doesn't have the skills to develop, it's just that he may not have the luxury of time in the NFL. * * While Brandon is a terrific athlete, but does not have the speed or change of direction for the cornerback position. He ran a very pedestrian 4.69 forty. He is the epitome of a player who could benefit from a full college experience and definitely needs a couple more year's of refinement. Still some team is likely to gamble a day one pick on him with the hopes that his learning curve will be quicker than we feel it will be. He must go to a team that does not expect him to start on day one, or he could get burned repeatedly and lose all confidence in himself. He looks to be moved to safety in the NFL. * * Positives: He is very tall...ideal for putting against the new style NFL wideouts. Very physical, strong and a good tackler, a very good first step, and a very good backpedal, turns fluidly in coverage. He is very aware and aggressive in coverage. * * Negatives: Slow, slow slow, lacks elite closing speed. Can be juked. Raw and inexperienced.
