CDS Profile
Albert is a massive presence on the D-Line. Demands the double team and keeps constant pressure on the opposing O-line with his temperament and nasty streak. Has very good triangle numbers for the position. Albert was asked to play more of a stay-at-home style in 2004, and thus his production numbers fell off somewhat this past season. Still, clever analysts will notice that he had a much better year in 2004 than in 2003 and really did his job of occupying 2 blockers consistently. There is no question but that Albert could develop into a Ted Washington-type pure NT in time. Still, he can appear a bit sluggish at times and may benefit by losing about 10-15 pounds to increase his stamina. He will have to be employed on 1st downs and goal line situations early on in his pro career in order to maximize his effectiveness. Very soft-spoken, not a leader type. He does not appear to be suited for NT in the 3-4 at this time, but more as a one gap rotational DT in a 3-4. Did not impress at the combine, running slower than most had hoped.
