CDS Profile
Aaron is a guy who is on the rise. He was a 1st team all MWC in both 2003 and 2004, and played in the East-West Shrine Game. While his stats are down slightly this year, it is more a factor of him finally getting more help from his secondary mates than in prior years rather, than any lack of effort on his part. Aaron is a very solid form tackler who will occasionally deliver the knockout blow. He excels in pass defense, but is big enough and strong enough to be a real help in the running game. Aaron was the team's leading tackler in 2003, and 2nd-leading tackler this past year. He is a smart player who takes good angles, is rarely out of position, and is very difficult to juke off the route. If Aaron has a weakness it may be lack of top corner-coverage type speed, but he more than makes up for this with his football smarts and his dedication to getting the x's and o's of the opponents offense down before the whistles start blowing. Aaron's stock was very high at the start of the season, slumped a little along with BYU's fortunes, but is on the rise again as of late. He looks to be a surefire first day selection at this point and has a legitimate shot at the second round with a great workout at the combine.
