I'd say Top 25. He's not a real lights out shut down corner despite all the tools....at least not yet....

If he truly is the 2nd best corner in the draft, it's hard to believe he wouldn't go in the top 20.

He might indeed wind up going there, I am just not convinced he is among the 20 best players (including as of yet undeclared underclassmen) available for this draft.

I'd take him third among the corners in the draft behind Malcolm Jenkins and DJ Moore. I'd say top 25 is about right.

Even though DJ Moore is 5'8'' and doesn't like contact, which probably makes him a career nickle man at best, you think he's the 2nd best corner in the draft?

I wouldnt shy away from the idea of playing him at Safety, if I was a GM and really needed a cover S.

Davis is definitely my 2nd best corner. He has all the physical tools but just sometimes takes plays off. Still, after Jenkins he is the best corner in this draft.

For me it is Jenkins, and the there is a batch of guys I have ranked about equally including David, Harris, Smith and Moore.

I am anxious to see which of that group really distinguishes himself in the post-season all star games and the Combine.

If I were a GM I honestly wouldn't take a 5'8" CB in the first round, especially with the size of recievers now a day in the NFL. (I might be stupid for that opinion)

The only short corner I can think of that is note worthy would be Dre Bly at 5'9".

Nathan Vasher (5' 10) seems just on the edge of being tall enough to me.(he was a 3rd rounder)

So are you unfamiliar with Antoine Winfield 143 Career games 697 Solo tackles 102 assists 3 Sacks, 20 Ints, 2 Pick 6s, 10 Forced Fumbles 92 PBUs or possible HOFer Ronde Barber 176 Career games 564 Solo tackles, 105 assist, 23 Sacks 37 Ints, 98 PBUs, 7 Pick 6s, 9 Forced Fumbles.

I didn't think of Winfield and barber is 5' 10" (and a third rounder!!)

I didn't say it was impossible for a guy 5'8" to be an effective pro. I was just saying I personally wouldn't take him in the first.

Barber is 5'9.3" tops and I know he was a 3rd rounder, Winfield was a 1st rounder as was Darell Green who is in the HOF and was one of the 5-10 best CBs in the game's history!

These are exceptions to the rule no doubt. (If you had an arguement about height in the nba, one could point out the 5'6" spudd webb) There is always exceptions to every rule.

Like I said, its just MY opinion. I wouldn't take moore in the first round.

Plus, Moore is listed at 5'8" thru his school. Grossman was listed as 6' (which was a lie). Lets see how Moore measures up at the combine. (Barber, Greene and Winfield aren't 5'8" anyways)

It doesn't matter, time will tell. He could be a mystery at his position. Before they were drafted I would have had a similar arguement about Brandon Jacobs, Eddie George, Barry Sanders or Wayne Chrebet never panning out in the NFL because of thier sizes compared to the position they play!!! Shows what I know.

Winfield is 5'8" as is Darrell Green, however I wouldn't take Moore in the 1st either, but there are plenty of good CBs who are less than 5'10", that's all I was stating. If you turn it around to WRs, Matt Jones was taken ahead of Steve Smith, but would you rather have. I take player based on how they play 1st, then scheme fit, measurables, and versatility. Obviously if you have 2 players with equal talent, but one is bigger, you will opt for bigger, just as faster is always better.

I guess hindsight is always 20/20, But takin a qb to play wr in Matt Jones and not Steve Smith from Utah was a real bad choice.

Which reminds me I watched the top 10 draft day trades (SF trading for Rice was #1) and top 10 draft busts (Ryan Leaf was #1) the other day on NFL network. Being a draft nut they were pretty sweet specials!!

The only ways to get accurate heights and weights on players is to look at pro day or combine numbers or if you can develop a relationship with somebody in the strength and conditioning department often they will give you good information off the record. The stuff you are looking at often comes from questionnaires filled out by the player. So how often do you think they are going to be accurate?
