Full Version: My favorite sleeper prospect
CDS Boards > General Access Boards > Discuss the Prospects for the 2009 Draft
Mr. Knowitall
I really want the Rams to take this guy in the 7th round, he is a huge sleeper...his name is Roland Minor and he is a CB out of Va Tech, as a sophmore he started next to Jimmy Williams, he even started over Brandon Flowers and had an exceptional year, he was compared to Champ Bailey but as a junior he was in a carcrash missed the first 5 games and came back playing on an injury and could not earn the job back from Macho Harris the whole season then as a senior he was academically ineligible but still worked his butt off and earned his degree...Minor has no off the field issues(to my knowelledge)...he is 6-0 205 runs a 4.45 40, he is a physical player who is an excellent tackler and is very good in coverage...as a sophmore many projected him to be a first round pick if he came out as junior(before the accident)...I think he can be an exceptional NFL CB...anyone agree disagree or know more on Roland and who are your favorite sleepers?

More on the accident, the accident was not one that he was stupid on...he swerved to avoid hitting a kid running into the street and hit another car.

Yea he looks like a good sleeper i believe my team the packers have met with him.
Another sleeper which has beeen questioned because of character issues and charges is Marcus Dixion the DE out of Hampton. I like him football wise and hopefully there will be no more problems in the future that come up.

1. Trimane Goddard-S, 2. Lawrence Sidbury-DE/OLB.

Minor might have the most upside of any VPI CB in years if he's 100%, not rusty and in the right system he is 6'0.1 203 and closer to 4.5 than 4.45 [4.43 was his best pre-injury] likely 4.48 or so now. I hope he gets a shot, his pro day will be make or break. wink.gif
